The performance embodied WPDI’s founding belief that peace begins with empathy, grace, and shared humanity. In the introduction, WPDI acknowledged its visionary partnership with songwriter, executive producer, and philanthropist Ken Freirich.

The song was delivered by a choir of NYC children from The Path Fund’s Rockers on the Rise and Broadway Bound Kids.

Written by Ken, “I Wish” is a call to action to improve humanity by bringing people together and encouraging acceptance, human dignity, hope, peace, kindness, and positive social change.

Ken decided to use the most powerful voices on earth, children, to deliver these deep, meaningful, world-changing lyrics with choirs from around the world. The song has become a global movement. Their latest release video, featuring the African Children’s Choir and filmed in Uganda, has over 33 million views on YouTube. The song and Ken recently won the Spirit of Hope and Excellence Award from Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend’s charity, Teen Cancer America, and the “I Wish” Peace and Social Change Award in the Ivory Coast of Africa for its positive impact on children, communities, and the world.”
