The Spirit of Hope and Excellence in Philanthropy Award from Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend’s charity, Teen Cancer America.
This award recognizes “I Wish” for providing a spirit of hope to the world, while also honoring Ken for his philanthropic leadership, outstanding service, and impact on young people with cancer through music.
The “I Wish” Peace and Social Change Award from the Mayor of Anyama, Côte d’Ivoire, Ivory Coast, Africa.
This award recognizes the power of “I Wish” and its lyrics to inspire peace, positive social change and for the song’s impact on the community. It was presented on August 26th at Lycée Moderne d’Anyama during a large assembly. “I Wish” was played as children from seven schools spoke about what the lyrics mean to them, how the song has impacted them, and share their wishes for the world.
“I Wish” was designated the official Earth Day song by the United Nations Commutech Group.
